Full Job Description
o Relevant qualification in PMVA/Accredited Restrictive Intervention Trainer -GSA Accredited - (General Services Association) qualification
Under the supervision of the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression Advisor the post holder will provide PMVA training and personal safety advice to all staff groups in line with Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the AllWales NHS Violence and Aggression Passport and other associated legislation and guidance including The Anti-Violence Collaborative Wales.o Support for the provision of Personal Safety, Violence and Aggression training and education throughout Powys Teaching Health Board, including supporting the planning and administration of training sessions and assessment of competence ensuring the most advanced techniques are embedded.o As directed by the PMVA Advisor, deliver to groups and provide 1-2-1 support where required. This may include service user's families and training on de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.o Provide advice to managers and staff on Violence and Aggression, Personal Safety issues, reducing restrictive practices and risk
assessments.o Responsible for working within national guidelines. Ensure all training has considered the equality and diversity of the audience and is rooted in all training packages., Planning and Designo Support the planning and organisation of a broad range of specialist Violence and Aggression training programmes, including training to meet the complex needs of the services by delivering bespoke packages that will meet the needs of staff and key stakeholders e.g. working with dementia, mental health and minor injuries patients and families.o Support the PMVA Advisor with the design, development of materials, presentations and training delivery of Violence and Aggression.Improvement and Monitoring o Assist managers and staff to conduct risk assessments in Violence and Aggression and Personal Safety whilst ensuring compliance to policy and procedures.o Analyse sensitive and confidential data and feedback to PMVA Advisor to initiate training priorities.o Reporting and escalating development needs of staff to the PMVA Advisor in line with the national and organisational Violence and Aggression policy.o As directed, research, develop and investigate incidents as a key
aspect to the role reporting trends, solutions and steps taken to mitigate reoccurrence of incidents.
