Full Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Bank Porter to join our team at Mount Stuart Hospital. You will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise.
With a strong focus on customer service our team of Bank Porters provide a vital service in our hospital. Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function of the role you will also be required to provide general porter services to all hospital departments. Duties will include management of waste, transit of blood and specimens, changing and handling of gas cylinders and manual handling of equipment., Changing and handling of gas cylinders
Adhering to Health and Safety standards
Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
Completing daily van runs for transport and delivery purposes
Conducting routine security checks of the hospital
Management of clinical and non-clinical waste
Supporting laundry services as required
Supervising and liaising with contractors on-site
Performing planned preventative maintenance checks
Providing internal and external postal services
Management of deliveries
Moving patients and material around the hospital as directed by the clinical team
Obtaining of supplies and equipment to replenish all departments in the hospital, Mount Stuart Hospital is one of Devon's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. The hospital opened in 1984 and has 26 bedrooms all with en suite facilities to ensure complete privacy., A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospitals. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work. Our Bank staff play a crucial role in maintaining service levels during peak times or staff shortages, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted.
Professional and confident IT skills
A valid driver's licence is essential for this role
Strong English and Mathematics skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Initiative with a flexible and proactive approach to work
Good attention to detail
Excellent customer service experience
Experience in working within a challenging environment
Previous Healthcare experience (desirable not required)
