This role is essential in helping us deliver the highest standards of patient care and ensuring our hospital runs smoothly, safely and efficiently. Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, West Midlands offers a comprehensive range of private hospital services. Our hospital is rated Good by the CQC for all parts of the inspection except for Patient Care, which is rated Outstanding. The report states, "Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions. They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers." Our dedicated hospital team are passionate about excellent patient care and we offer a range of specialist treatments to patients across Birmingham, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. This includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation, cutting-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, women's health and cancer care. We have 51 bedrooms and five operating theatres. About the Role As a Bank Porter, you will provide vital support across the hospital, including the safe movement of patients, equipment and supplies. You will work as part of a close-knit team, covering a range of shifts including days, afternoons and nights. This is a flexible bank position, ideal for individuals looking to balance work with other commitments while contributing to exceptional patient experience.,

• To transfer and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner
• Move clinical equipment, medical supplies, goods and other items as required
• Responsible for the safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01
• Support clinical teams by maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment
• Respond promptly to portering requests and prioritise tasks effectively
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues
• Uphold safety, infection-control and patient-handling standards
• Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department
• Complete additional portering and facilities tasks to support smooth running of the hospital
  
  Experience of working in a similar role and delivering frontline customer service
• Good communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends
• Due to the physical demands of the role, including moving equipment and assisting with patient transport, you will need to be able to perform these essential duties safely
