Bank Physiotherapist Band 6

We have an opportunity for a motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Therapy Team at Barnet Hospital - part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This post is via the staff Bank and would involve working up to 37.5 hours per week. The Therapy teams at Barnet Hospital provide an integrated therapy service in the following areas:

• Stroke
• Neurology
• Emergency Department and Admission Avoidance
• Acute Medicine
• Surgery (including Head & Neck surgery)
• Acute Respiratory Care (including Non-Invasive Ventilation) across the Enhanced Care Unit and ward
• Critical Care
• Acute cardiology
• Health Services for Elderly People (HSEP)
• Trauma & Orthopaedics
The successful applicant will be expected to manage their own clinical caseload and supervise other staff as appropriate, whilst being supported by highly skilled and experienced band 7 and 8 staff in the relevant specialty. You will be working in a rewarding and challenging clinical environment. The Therapies department at Barnet Hospital is committed to ensuring bank staff feel supported with regular supervision and access to in-service training sessions.As part of this we continue to work towards becoming a fully inclusive department., 1.This static Band 6 Physiotherapist will undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and work in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures established within the inpatient clinical areas. 2.To provide an advanced standard of therapy assessment and treatment of a specialist caseload within inpatient areas to patients, considering carers and families, without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from team leads is available when required. Clinical work is routinely evaluated. 3.To work in a trans-disciplinary therapy team including other physiotherapists, occupational therapists, therapy support workers, dieticians and speech and language therapists. 4.To work with patient's families or carers to provide an advanced level of support, education and expectation regarding the outcome of the hospital attendance. 5.To supervise, teach and appraise Band 5 therapists and support workers. 6.To participate in Continuing Professional Development, evidence - based audit and research projects that will enhance the service.
