Full Job Description

We're looking for reliable, compassionate and friendly Personal Assistants to join an existing team as bank staff, providing cover for sickness and holidays while supporting an individual and their friendly dog, Cooper.

This is a varied role involving domestic, social, practical and community support. Duties may include supporting with medication routines and ordering medications, food shopping and meal preparation, laundry, keeping the home clean and tidy, basic garden maintenance and providing support with understanding and managing finances. You may also accompany the individual to appointments and help them get out and about in the community.

A key part of the role is supporting with Cooper, who is currently being trained to become an assistance dog. It is essential that applicants genuinely like dogs and are completely comfortable being around them as part of their working day. Support with Cooper may include helping with walks, including holding his lead, attending training sessions, ordering his food and supporting social outings to places such as shops and cafés. Cooper is an important part of the individual's day-to-day life, so applicants must be confident and willing to actively engage with him as part of the role.

You'll also encourage the individual to maintain friendships, access the community and build confidence and independence. Where appropriate, this may include providing positive encouragement and support around driving. A full driving licence and access to a car are not essential, provided you are able to reliably travel to and from the place of work.

We're looking for someone who is friendly, patient, respectful, organised and proactive, with the ability to work independently while following established routines. Most importantly, you'll need to be comfortable working around dogs and willing to make them an active part of the support you provide.

If you're looking for flexible work where you can make a genuine difference while becoming part of an established support team, we'd love to hear from you.
