Full Job Description

The post holder will provide clinical and medical support to the patients on the Oncology ward, Outpatient Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Units, through the provision of general patient care and medical procedures. Out of hours, the day case chemotherapy unit is closed. To cover the haematology ward at night and at weekends. To work closely with the Consultants and nursing staff to support patient treatments and management of symptom control, as appropriate.,

  • Act in accordance with GMC standards registered body and demonstrate the core values and code of conduct of the clinic.
  • Adhere to and promote The London Clinic policies/procedures and guidelines related to both professional practice and general issues.
  • Ensure mandatory training is completed in a timely manner and is maintained on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory and best practice frameworks.
  • Pursue personal professional education and development in line with GMC guidelines, ensuring that revalidation requirements are met.
  • Ensure daily clear documentation in notes and ensure the maintenance of essential documentation. Liaise with the relevant Consultants and their secretaries as necessary.
  • To ensure discharge summary is completed for all in-patients and a copy is given to the patient.
  • To maintain a high standard of work and uphold the professional image of The London Clinic.
  • To maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.
  • To respect the confidentiality of all matters that arise in relation to patients, families, staff and colleagues as per professional standards / guidance.
  • To consistently demonstrate the values of the clinic in the work you do and support working as one with the teams To undertake any other tasks appropriate to grade and capabilities as required by the clinical line manager, or Medical Director.
