Full Job Description
This is a Staff Bank role, requiring flexible, as-and-when working to meet service needs across the Welsh Blood Service.
The post holder will undertake a range of portering and stores duties, including the timely delivery of goods to departments and the preparation of consumable stock cages for collection teams. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support an efficient and responsive stock management service within the Stores Department, using the Oracle electronic ordering system, and help maintain service continuity in line with changing operational demands., Receive, check and deliver goods to departments in line with service requirements. Prepare consumable stock cages daily for Collection Teams. Maintain day-to-day stock levels, ensuring accuracy and availability. Liaise with suppliers and internal departments regarding deliveries and returns. Identify and resolve stock issues, including shortages, damaged items and discrepancies. Initiate urgent stock orders where required to maintain service continuity. Operate a forklift to move large or heavy items within the Stores area where appropriate. Produce weekly audit reports to validate inventory accuracy and agreed stock levels. Support stocktaking activities as required. Follow manual handling procedures when moving equipment and consumables. Collect and dispose of general, recyclable and clinical waste. Transport autoclave waste to and from the local hospital. Support general housekeeping and provide cover for team members as needed.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
