We have a fantastic opportunity for a Bank General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at HMP Leicester, a category B remand prison based close to Leicester town centre and train station. The Prison houses around 408 male patients, the majority of whom are aged between 18-40 years of age., Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldnt usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active

  HMP Leicester runs a nurse lead service, you will be working with an experienced and supportive multi-disciplinary team including an substance misuse specialist NMP. Your role will be focused on supporting patients with substance misuse and acute needs, suitable applicant must have experience and feel confident prescribing controlled substance. Dr Alex Griffiths on working as a GP for Health in Justice Hours Monday to Friday 8 am-8.30pm Saturday 2pm-6pm However most sessions offered will be evenings., We are looking for caring, compassionate but also driven professionals who can help us drive our vision for a fair and inclusive healthcare access to all. Requirements
• MBChB or MBBS
• Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
