Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Echocardiographer looking for flexible bank work where you can make a real difference to patient care? We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Bank Echocardiographers to join our outpatient echocardiography service and help us reduce our current waiting-list backlog. We can offer complete flexibility around your availability - whether you are looking for occasional sessions, regular weekly work, weekend work or any additional hours. Any hours you can offer would be welcomed. We are particularly keen to hear from those who can offer regular weekly/weekend bank sessions, although occasional availability will also be considered. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiac physiologist/scientist or echocardiographer who would like to work flexibly, supporting a busy outpatient service while helping us to improve timely access to diagnostic echocardiography for our patients., As a Bank Echocardiographer, you will undertake high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) within our outpatient setting across our Trust. You will be expected to:

  • Perform high-quality adult transthoracic echocardiograms in accordance with departmental protocols and relevant professional standards.
  • Obtain accurate measurements and comprehensive diagnostic images.
  • Recognise significant or unexpected findings and escalate appropriately.
  • Produce clear, accurate and clinically useful reports.
  • Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the wider cardiology and clinical teams.
  • Contribute directly to reducing our outpatient waiting-list backlog and improving patient experience.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety and infection prevention.
  • Work collaboratively with our existing echocardiography team to support an efficient and patient-focused service.

CHFT is an integrated acute and community Trust serving diverse communities across Calderdale and Kirklees, with strong partnerships across West Yorkshire. We are proud of our One Culture of Care -- caring for each other with the same compassion, kindness and respect that we show our patients -- and of the values that underpin how we work: we put people first, we go see, we work together to get results, and we do the must dos.
  • CHFT is recognised as a forward looking, digitally enabled Trust, with a strong track record of using data, innovation and system collaboration to improve quality, safety and outcomes. We are ambitious about the role that acute trusts play in prevention, population health and reducing inequalities, and this post sits at the heart of that agenda. Why join us?
  • Flexible bank working to fit around your existing commitments.
  • The opportunity to work additional sessions when available.
  • A supportive and friendly echocardiography team.
  • Modern outpatient facilities and established clinical pathways.
  • The opportunity to make a direct and measurable difference to patient waiting times.
  • An ideal opportunity for experienced echocardiographers seeking additional hours or flexible NHS work.
