Bank Catering Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Catering Assistant to join our busy Hospital Catering Team on a bank basis. You will play an important role in supporting patient wellbeing by helping deliver high quality food and refreshments within a safe, hygienic and caring environment. The role will support both patient catering services and the hospital restaurant. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in delivering excellent service and can work efficiently within a busy environment.Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients, staff and visitors
• Deliver patient meals accurately, professionally and courteously
• Assist with basic food preparation and stock rotation
• Maintain cleanliness within kitchen, dining and service areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene and infection prevention procedures at all times
• Operate catering equipment safely and responsibly
• Support the catering team during busy service periods
• Wash utensils, trays and kitchen equipment
• Ensure dietary requirements and allergen procedures are followed correctly

• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A caring, professional and customer-focused approach
• Flexible availability to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays
• Good awareness of cleanliness and food hygiene standards
Desirable:
• Previous catering, kitchen or hospitality experience
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification
• Experience working within healthcare or large-scale catering environments
