As a chef, you will play a vital role with the production of food in the main kitchen, for hospitality and when required for the staff restaurant.

The role involves and not limiting to supervising porters, preparing food, good customer service skills with internal departments and external guests, stores duties, cleaning duties, delivering and collection of patient meals trolley in an emergency or as required.

Support the values and objectives of the department by sustaining a high professional attitude in all aspects of the job role. Sustain the ability to remain calm and polite under pressure, whilst maintaining a high degree of tact, diplomacy and integrity

Specifically, responsible for the direct supervision of the porter's team across all shift patterns

Support the Catering Department's requirement to adhere to the "Food Law"; maintaining awareness of the Food Standard's Framework Agreement on local authority food law enforcement, food hygiene rating schemes and the Food Law Code of Practise in respect of Environmental Health inspections.

Ensure compliance with Food safety and Hygiene standards whilst cooking, chilling and storing food items.

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and all work areas.

Ensure stock rotation is done and items are properly labelled and stored in accordance with the Food Safety standards of the Trust.

Complete all relevant records and documentation as required by the departments policies and procedures
