Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and motived leader who can bring energy and focus to the role of General Manager forAcute and Specialist Medicine for six months until the end of March 2027. This role is a key part of the Acute and Specialist Medicine directorate management team. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership within the directorate and influence service design and delivery across the organisation. They will work with the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing provide leadership to directorate staff, ensuring clear communication of Trust and divisional values, vision, priorities and expectations to ensure the engagement of teams to deliver services of the highest quality, whilst ensuring that key performance and financial targets are met., See attached job description, key objective of the role is to provide senior management leadership in supporting the directorate's contribution to the divisional, health unit and Trust agendas.
This post would suit an individual who has extensive experience at a senior level within an acute Trust environment and who has a good understanding of governance and performance requirements within the NHS. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in collaboration with multi-professional teams and has a strong commitment to improving performance, quality and safety.,
- Leadership of a multidisciplinary team and delivering to deadlines and within resources.
- Significant acute operational management experience in a complex healthcare organisation
- Ability to work across site, managing competing demands
- Numerate, IT literate, analytical and able to use business intelligence effectively
- Demonstrate advanced influencing and negotiation skills
- Broad understanding of the NHS and key policy issues which affect performance, Aptitude to engage in constructive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve success through partnership, Recent substantial senior management experience, in an NHS acute setting or equivalent
- Evidence of leading and managing complex change within a complex environment
- Strategic planning and project management
- Managing large and complex budgets
- Managing a cross-site, complex function, Post graduate qualification or equivalent experience
- Management qualification
- Evidence of continuing personal development, Ability to work under pressure and flexibly in a dynamic environment
