BCHC is committed to improving the quality of patient care through medicines optimisation provided in both the community and in our in-patient units, and to ensure the safe, effective and efficient use of medicines.

We provide community and specialist services within Birmingham and the West Midlands. We deliver over 100 clinical services, out in people's homes andin over 300 hospitals, health centres and clinics.We provide services for adults, children, people with learning disabilities, those with rehabilitation needs as well as regional dental services.

We are seeking an innovative individual that can help transform our community services. Working with a range of clinicians and services across the Trust you will lead on the community services as well as taking on the role of Deputy Chief Pharmacist, As Deputy Chief Pharmacist, the post holder will work with the Chief Pharmacist to ensure the Trust-wide delivery of safe, effective and efficient medicines optimisation and pharmacy services to patients and other service users in the Trust, financial, strategic and staffmanagement and service transformation in line with trust strategy and national priorities. As a member of the Medicines Optimisation senior team, the post holder will assist in the development of the medicines optimisation strategy and the development of medicines optimisation and pharmacy services. The post holder will be a senior and experienced pharmacist and will have responsibilities for the leadership and the development of the community services activity portfolios in addition to the additional roles and responsibilities of the Deputy Chief Pharmacist as outlined in this jobdescription. The portfolio will be flexible dependent upon the skills and experiences of the successful candidate.

The Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team works across the whole organisation and is responsible for all aspects of medicines practice.

We are a small friendly team that consistently punches above it weight; team members are regularly recognised in both Trust and national awards and we have delivered some of the most significant digital projects across the Trust in recent years.
