Please note: all vacancies automatically close when 50 applications have been received., This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated pharmacist to join the Cancer Services Pharmacy team at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will work closely with the Lead Pharmacists for Oncology and Haematology to deliver a high-quality, patient-centred clinical pharmacy service to patients with cancer. You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist expertise to ensure the safe, effective, and timely delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT).
You will take a leading role in supporting and developing non-medical prescribing (NMP) clinics, optimising treatment pathways, and driving service improvement initiatives. The role also includes responsibility for contributing to clinical governance, supporting compliance with national standards, and leading on audit, policy development, and education within cancer services., You must have hospital pharmacy experience with strong clinical skills and knowledge of aseptic services. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and the self-motivation to achieve shared goals. You will demonstrate confidence as a senior pharmacist and act as a role model for staff.
The post holder will lead a specialist clinical pharmacy service for oncology patients, ensuring the safe, effective, and timely delivery of SACT. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical advice and support decision-making to optimise patient outcomes.
The role includes supporting NMP clinics, improving treatment pathways, and enhancing service efficiency. You will collaborate with the aseptic unit to support the safe preparation and checking of SACT, take a lead role in clinical governance, and contribute to high-cost drug management, education, and service development initiatives.
