Full Job Description

The Respiratory Department at the Royal United Hospital is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of consultants, respiratory nurse specialists, lung nurse specialists, medical nurse practitioners, respiratory physiotherapist, pharmacist and psychologist.
You will be based in the Respiratory Outpatient Department providing a service for patients with asthma, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and tuberculosis.
Working autonomously as an integral member of the respiratory multidisciplinary team, you will manage a caseload of patients, undertaking comprehensive holistic assessments, independently developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised patient management plans.
You will provide clinical leadership, expert advice, and education to patients, their families/carers, and other healthcare professionals across various settings. You will play a key role in leading nurse-led initiatives, including participation in dedicated respiratory prescribing clinics, service development, audits, and the implementation of evidence-based practice to optimise patient outcomes and prevent hospital admissions.

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity within our Respiratory Department for a Band 7 Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual with strong autonomous practice skills who can also work collaboratively as part of our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising patient outcomes, delivering high-quality specialist care, and contributing to the ongoing development of our respiratory services., Band 7 achieved on completion of non-medical prescribing course, relevant respiratory knowledge and ability to work independently.
