Community Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)/Clinical Paramedic Specialist (CPS) (North Camden) Band 7 (30 hours/week) - Based at the Royal Free Hospital site A band 7 post has become available. This opportunity will prove invaluable experience for those looking to develop their career in palliative care in North Camden community. The Royal Free Community Palliative Care Team has a proven track record of providing innovative, personalised care to patients coping with advanced, progressive disease both within the community setting. Our team works 9-5pm Monday to Sunday and the focus is on providing person and family centred care for those with complex and specialist palliative care needs at the end of life and in long term conditions. We work in close collaboration and consultation with primary health care teams, and other palliative and end of life providers. This is an exciting time to work in palliative care in the North Central London area. We have a strong team and pride ourselves on collaborative working between the acute, community and hospice providers. The candidate will contribute to the continued service development and education programmes. We will provide a supportive environment in which to develop your skills as an advance practitioner., The CNS/CPS contributes to the provision of specialist palliative care in the North Camden community for patients facing life-limiting illnesses (within the remit of the multi- disciplinary team) accepting patient referrals to agreed criteria and managing their own caseload with the support of the Lead Nurse and Consultant Nurse. They will provide advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health and social care professionals. They will contribute to the development and smooth running of the service. The post holder will work to agreed professional, departmental and Trust boundaries as required to provide patient centred seamless care and will take part in the 7 day / week service to both community and hospital patients.

You should be creative, enthusiastic and motivated with:

  • Broad and extensive experience of working with acutely unwell patients and terminally ill adults post registration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and as a team member
  • Hold a first degree and relevant post registration qualifications
