Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage a caseload of complex persistent MSK Pain presentations from triage to discharge in line with current best practice. The role will include assessment, 1-2-1 and group treatment. Case discussions with other members of the team including different professions, presentations in the MDT meeting and joint treatments with Pain Psychology staff as appropriate.
The post holder will act as a Pain Management Physiotherapy expert for the Haringey Community Pain Service as well as supervise senior (B6) Pain Management Physiotherapists. The in-service training, appraisal and personal development programmes are well established for all staff and all departments providing a friendly working environment with supportive and experienced clinicians.
You will need to have a caring and mature attitude to work closely with patients and with staff in our department.
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
