Band 7 Oesophagogastric (OG) Clinical Nurse Specialist

The post holder will as a lone CNS providing expert nursing support to patients with oesophageal and gastric conditions, including cancer, from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up. They will act as a key worker, coordinating care, offering specialist advice, and supporting patients and their families throughout their pathway.

The role involves close collaboration with consultants, surgeons, oncologists, and allied health professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care, while also contributing to service development, education, and clinical leadership within the specialty., This role involves providing expert clinical leadership and acting as the key worker for patients with oesophagogastric conditions, ensuring a coordinated, patient-centred approach across the entire care pathway.

The post holder will lead specialist services, manage complex caseloads, and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and timely care from referral through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The role also includes service development, quality improvement, education, and contributing to research to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
