University Hospitals Brimingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Estates Officer at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. This key role is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of mechanical services across at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and it associated off-site premises. You will lead and manage engineering maintenance activities, contractors and in-house teams, ensuring statutory compliance, high technical standards and continuity of critical hospital services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estates professional to contribute directly to patient safety and service delivery., The Mechanical Estates Officer will be responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and compliance of all mechanical building services at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, which is part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), hot and cold-water systems, medical gases, drainage, and other associated plant and equipment. The role involves providing technical expertise, ensuring statutory compliance (including HTM and HBN guidance), managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, and delivering high-quality estates support to clinical and non-clinical services.
