Full Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team based at Basildon Hospital. If successful, you will work in a fast-paced but supportive environment to help our patients get back home and on the right recovery plans. Our team take a dynamic holistic approach to make rapid decisions to aid in getting the right support in place for our patients and their families. As a service, we really do believe that collaboration and sharing knowledge is key to success.   • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for patients attending Accident and Emergency (A&E), Acute Medical Units (AMU), the Frailty clinic and Frailty Assessment Unit (FAU).
  • You will have a dynamic approach to work and be capable of leading a team, including in times of change. You will be expected to manage the daily running of the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care within the specialty.
  • This role has a strong clinical focus: You will use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the integrated therapy team (occupational therapy and physiotherapy) whilst maintaining a clinical caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner.
  • You will take part in the weekend and Bank Holiday rota.
  • Work as an advanced autonomous practitioner: Assesses, sets goals, provides treatment, and progresses own patient caseload which contains patients with complex and specialist needs.
  • Lead in specialist area; contributes to development of specialist services and relevant policies helping implement policy changes and monitoring standards of clinical practice.
  • Supervise, teach, and evaluate students and other staff working in own specialist area., We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
