Band 7 CNS / Specialist Practitioner (Community Spirometry)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist / Specialist Practitioner to join our Community Respiratory Service as the lead clinician for Community Spirometry. This is an autonomous advanced practice role for a registered clinician with significant respiratory experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality diagnostic services closer to patients' homes. The successful candidate will provide expert respiratory assessment, undertake and interpret spirometry in line with national standards, and support the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred respiratory diagnostic pathways. Working across community settings, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing community spirometry services, supporting earlier diagnosis and management of respiratory disease, and improving patient outcomes across the local population. This is for 18.75 hours per week.Main duties of the job

• Deliver high-quality respiratory assessment and diagnostic spirometry services across community settings.
• Work autonomously, managing a specialist caseload and providing expert clinical advice to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Perform, interpret and quality assure spirometry testing in accordance with ARTP and national respiratory diagnostic standards.
• Support the diagnosis and management of patients with respiratory conditions including COPD, asthma and other chronic lung diseases.
• Lead on service improvement initiatives, clinical audit and quality assurance programmes.
• Provide specialist education, training and competency assessment for healthcare professionals involved in respiratory diagnostics.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with primary care, secondary care and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, pathways and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor service activity, outcomes and performance indicators to support continuous service improvement.
