As a Band 7 Clinical Scientist, you will play a key role in providing advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services, supporting clinical decision-making, and contributing to service development. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred care and uphold the highest standards of clinical practice. Final year/recent STP Graduates are encouraged to apply.   • Deliver specialist audiological assessments and interventions for adults and children with complex hearing needs.
  • Provide expert advice and support to clinical colleagues and trainees.
  • Contribute to research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols and guidelines.

  • Person Specification Knowledge and Experience Essential
  • oGood knowledge base in all aspects of Adult Audiology
  • oExperience in autonomously performing diagnostic audiovestibular investigations including creating management plans (calorics, vHIT, cVEMP)

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Scientist to join our dynamic Audiology team across St Michael's Hospital and Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking service that delivers high-quality care to patients with complex auditory needs., oMinimum of 2 years relevant post qualification experience
  • oExperience of teaching/training of staff
  • oExperience performing objective audiological assessments such as corticals, ABR, OAEs
  • oExperience of running a balance rehabilitation clinic
  • oExperience testing and treating BPPV (eg Epley and BBQ roll)
  • oExperience contributing to research/audit, oAbility to communicate complex scientific information both oral and written
  • oAn advanced level of clinical skills and knowledge of Audiological conditions and treatments
  • oAnalytical skills to be able to interpret and compare a range of options for problem solving
  • oAbility to Prioritise
  • oGood Time Management skills, Registered Clinical Health Professional i.e., AHCS or HCPC
  • oSTP Neurosensory science (Audiology) or MSc Audiology plus Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC)/ HTS modules or can demonstrate evidence of development of knowledge and skills to this level
  • oRecognised training in areas of vestibular investigation and rehabilitation including certificates in the practical assessments for DAV
  • Aptitudes Essential
  • oAbility to work effectively and methodically and as part of a team
