Full Job Description

Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and Scope for Expanded Practices for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors To ensure accurate and comprehensive nursing records are maintained using appropriate written and electronic documentation To undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility. To provide a continuing supportive service within the breast screening units and facilitate optimum health care for those who have or fear they may have a breast cancer. The post holder is responsible for the management of a caseload within the defined client group, including liaison where appropriate with other agencies and the provision of specialist advice to those involved in delivering care to this group. The post holder will work alongside the Director of Screening, Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Surgeons, Histopathologists, Clinical Nurses Specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide patient focused care within the screening service. Identify a patient's physical, social and psychological needs that required referral to other agencies

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. You should have proven experience of working

  • In a clinical background, with experience and knowledge of treating Breast Cancer /breast disease and breast screening clients.
  • A first level degree or working towards this.
  • A specialist qualification in advanced breast care practice
  • Counselling Skills training and experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to priorities, work independently as well as within a team.
