Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer

Work as a member of the team of therapeutic radiographers covering all sections of the department including CT scanning, virtual simulation and contouring, delivery of a wide range of both simple and complex treatment and IGRT techniques Liaising with the multidisciplinary team. Assist with the day-to-day organisation of the CT and treatment unit to ensure an efficient service is delivered and workload targets are achieved. Supervise, support & teach junior members of staff and students.

• BSc (Hon) in Radiotherapy
• HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer
• Awareness of HCPC standard of conduct, Recent experience of working clinically within radiotherapy, Experience in NHS
• Experience of paid employment either full or part time.
• Experience of using Varian equipment including linacs, virtual simulation and Eclipse treatment planning system.
• Experience of working with SGRT, Core knowledge of a range of radiotherapy equipment and techniques together with the principles underlying them.
• A general understanding of computerised treatment planning systems.
• Core knowledge of the principles of radiotherapy treatment planning and radiation dosimetry as applied to radiotherapy treatments
• Core knowledge of a range of imaging equipment and principles underlying their use
• Detailed understanding of the disease process of malignant tumours.
• Understanding of Ionising Radiation Regulations and responsibilities relating to own professional practise
• Good anatomical knowledge

• Knowledge of research and trails.
• Knowledge of risk management., Good technical and manual dexterity skills required to operate sophisticated equipment in a field of rapidly changing technology.

• Good communication and team work skills.
• Good patient care with the ability to deliver and receive sensitive information., You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
