Job description: Band 6 CAMHS Nurse responsible for assessing the mental health needs of children and young people, developing and delivering evidence-based care plans, managing complex caseloads, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, coordinating care, and promoting safeguarding in community settings. Key responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive assessments:Conduct thorough mental health assessments of children and young people, including presenting symptoms, developmental history, family dynamics, and social context. Care planning:Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilizing evidence-based practices and considering the needs of the child, family, and wider support network. Therapeutic interventions:Deliver a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and psychoeducation sessions, tailored to the specific needs of each child and family. Case management:Manage a

    complex caseload, prioritizing needs, coordinating care with other professionals, and ensuring timely follow-up appointments. Safeguarding:Actively identify and respond to potential safeguarding concerns, reporting any suspected abuse or neglect according to established procedures. Community engagement:Build relationships with local agencies and community services to facilitate access to support and promote mental health awareness. Clinical supervision:Participate in regular clinical supervision to maintain professional development and reflect on practice. Required skills and qualifications: Professional registration:Relevant professional registration with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Nursing and Midwifery Council for nurses) Postgraduate qualification:A postgraduate qualification in child and adolescent mental health, such as a diploma or masters in CAMHS Clinical experience:Proven experience working with children and young people with a range of mental health
