Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen, for an enthusiastic Specialist Physiotherapist, that has a keen interest in working with patients with neurological conditions, to join our Band 6 Neuro Rotation at BHRUT.

Our established Band 6 Neuro rotation offers experience in the following areas: Hyper Acute Stroke; Acute Stroke; Stroke Rehab; ESD Team; Regional Neuro-Sciences Unit, Neuro Out-patients, Collar and Brace Service and Neuro Outliers team. You will work alongside highly specialist staff and clinical specialists to ensure quality Neuro-specific treatment to patients and contribute to the development of these services. Experience can be gained in treatment and management of a wide variety of neurological patients including vestibular and spasticity management.

As an award-winning stroke team, we work closely with all disciplines to find new and innovative ways to meet high standards of care. You will have the opportunity to supervise more junior staff and students and take an active role in the in-service training, audit and research programmes.

Learning and development are important to our Team, with an established In-service training programme. External courses are supported if the need has been clearly identified through the Appraisal and Personal Development process and you will be supported in developing leadership skills in your role.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service, as determined by the rotation, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries

To fulfil a teaching and supervisory role with peers, Junior staff and Students on placement

To participate in the band 6 rotational scheme which involves working across the Trust in a range of settings, in line with your chosen career pathway.

We're an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and our patients are happy with.

They are benefitting from a new electronic patient record (we were the last acute trust in London to introduce one) and our maternity services have been rated good by the Care Quality Commission.

We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We're campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen's and get rid of corridor care.

We're proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.

We run a Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of our 8,400 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We're proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
