Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic SEDS team, providing dietetic care to service users within Community Eating Disorders Service. This is a 12 month secondment or fixed term role.
The post holder will be part of the Specialist Eating Disorder Service (0-25 years Dietetic Service), assisting in the provision of a comprehensive and holistic service for service users referred into the team.
The post holder will work within SEDS to provide specialist dietetic advice to young people with eating disorders and ARFID. This will involve working directly with children, young people, families, carers and staff members to deliver treatment programs.
The post holder will be professionally accountable for their own caseload and work autonomously in a variety of community settings including the service user's own home.
The role requires the post holder to work in a variety of settings within the community, including virtually, clinics, groups, in-person, patient's home etc as part of the SEDs multi disciplinary team., The successful post holder will work with the SEDS Lead dietitian and dietetic colleagues supporting our citywide Eating Disorder Service. They will be responsible for the provision of a specialist, evidence based dietetic service for children and young people with eating disorders, and their families with a focus on the intensive pathway within SEDS.
Applicants must have a dietetic qualification to at least degree level, and be HCPC Registered. They will have post registration experience of providing assessment and treatment for patients with eating disorders, including refeeding protocols and evidence of CPD.
The post holder will be required to have a high level of communication skills, both written and verbal, be compassionate, respectful and value individual patient needs. They will have the ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner (this may be clinic based or in the home), be resilient and emotionally intelligent and engage positively with children, young adults and families. An excellent working knowledge of child protection and adult safeguarding issues and processes for the age range 0-25 is essential.

Please note, if applicable for your role you will be required to cover the cost of your DBS certificate. This will be deducted from your salary over 3 months. You will also be required to sign up to the DBS Update Service before commencement with the Trust. The Trust will reimburse this. You will be contractually obliged to maintain your subscription.
All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust's induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
