Full Job Description

As a Resuscitation Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based resuscitation practice across the Trust. Working as part of the Resuscitation Service, you will deliver engaging and high-quality training to a wide range of clinical staff, helping to build confidence and competence in the recognition and management of deteriorating patients and cardiac arrest situations., The post holder will assist the Senior Resuscitation Officer in delivering high-quality resuscitation and deteriorating patient training programmes to Trust staff, including adult, paediatric and neonatal life support courses. They will support the organisation, coordination and delivery of Resuscitation Council (UK) accredited courses, acting as a Course Director or Course Co-ordinator where appropriate. The role includes collecting, analysing and presenting cardiac arrest and resuscitation audit data, including participation in root cause analysis investigations and reporting findings to the Resuscitation Committee and other relevant forums. The post holder will ensure all training activity and resuscitation data is accurately recorded in accordance with Trust policies and governance requirements. The Band 6 Resuscitation Practitioner will contribute to the development, implementation and review of resuscitation policies, procedures and guidelines, and will actively participate as a member of the Resuscitation Committee. They will attend cardiac arrest calls when operationally possible, providing clinical support, teaching and expert advice to multidisciplinary teams during resuscitation attempts. Additional responsibilities include supporting public life support education initiatives, contributing to income generation through the delivery of external training courses, undertaking administrative duties relevant to the role, and deputising for the Senior Resuscitation Officer in their absence. The post holder may also be required to provide cross-site cover and work at other Trust locations in line with service needs. The post holder will uphold Trust values by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with dignity and respect and will work in accordance with health and safety requirements, including the manual handling of training equipment and potential exposure to clinical environments. We are seeking an individual with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for education and patient care., You will be expected to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across a variety of clinical settings, providing expert advice, practical support, and professional leadership in relation to resuscitation and emergency care. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach, motivate and support learners with differing levels of experience and knowledge.,

  • Either RN, ODP or HCPC registered Paramedic
  • An ALS or EPALS Resuscitation Council UK course provider certificate.
  • Teaching experience
  • Evidence of further academic study
  • Desirable
  • ALS/EPALS/NLS RC(UK) provider certificate
  • ALS/EPLS/NLS Instructor (or IP)
  • ALS course director or experience as a course co-ordinator
  • Experience of working with critically unwell children
