Defence Primary Healthcare provides musculoskeletal services to Armed Forces personnel within a primary care setting. At Thorney Island, physiotherapists manage a specialist caseload of training and sports related injuries within a modern Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility. The role supports clinical autonomy, multidisciplinary working and predictable hours. It offers a clearly defined and distinctive alternative to traditional NHS outpatient physiotherapy. The post holder will ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work. The post holder will provide a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high-quality professional service. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team within the Portsmouth Combined Medical Practice. The Combined Practice is formed of 6 sites Nelson Medical centre, Sultan Medical Centre, Collingwood Medical Centre, Excellent Medical Centre, Southwick Park Medical centre and Thorney Island Medical Centre and there will be an expectation to work across all sites as and when required.

The post is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Part-time candidates will be considered but due to service delivery requirements it must be on a job share basis as full time hours need to be covered. The salary will be pro-rata where part time hours are undertaken.,
