Swansea Bay University Health Board offers an exciting opportunity to embark on a two-year fixed-term rotational training programme, designed to develop your skills and confidence as a post-registration pharmacist.
Our rotational training programme allows pharmacists to rotate across up to two base sites, offering exposure to a broad range of specialties. While specific rotations cannot be guaranteed, the opportunities on offer include:
· Morriston Hospital: Acute Medicine, Paediatrics and Intensive Care Unit.
· Singleton Hospital: Oncology, Haematology, Women's Health, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
· Cefn Coed Hospital: Specialist Mental Health Services.
Learning pathway

You will undertake a recognised post-registration qualification or credential, with access to a structured programme of learning designed to equip you with the skills needed to deliver advanced, specialist care., As a Band 6 pharmacist, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities depending on your rotation and allocated sites. These may include providing clinical pharmacy services on wards, where you will ensure the safe and effective use of medicines, optimise patient care through medication reviews, and offer expert advice to the multidisciplinary team. You will also contribute to the operation of the dispensary, including screening prescriptions, checking dispensed medications, and ensuring the timely supply of medicines to patients.
This varied role offers a robust foundation for your career, with exposure to a wide array of specialties and practice environments, fostering professional growth and development.
The pharmacy team provides a 7-day service and an out-of-hours emergency service. The role will involve developing competence across these services and participating in rotas in accordance with each base site.
