Full Job Description
- Work as an autonomous practitioner in providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment of a range of pelvic health conditions (obstetric, gynaecological, colorectal) to your own designated caseload of patients. This is provided both on-site and also within community clinics without direct supervision. You will be expected to maintain up to date physiotherapy records.
- Use evidence based principles / current best practise and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
- Fully participate in CPD and other service development activities
- Regularly supervise, teach and support more junior staff
- Deputise for the physiotherapy team leader during their absence
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2x Band 6 Physiotherapist who wishes to develop their clinical skills in Pelvic Health practice, working as part of a supportive, friendly and passionate team. The post holder will be offered training and professional development opportunities to develop their skills in pelvic health (prior experience in MSK outpatients is required if no previous experience in pelvic health). Prior experience of working in the NHS at undergraduate or postgraduate level is essential. They will be expected to contribute to service development. The physiotherapists specialising in Pelvic Health work very closely with the Urogynaecology, Colorectal, Gastroenterology Consultant led teams, Continence nurses, Midwives and dieticians. This makes for an interesting mix of outpatient caseload. The service also runs a range of rehabilitation and education classes and is a regional centre of the delivery of posterior tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS). The successful applicant will be an effective team player, have the ability to use their initiative and communicate with empathy. They will embrace innovation and integrated working, and be committed to following best practice to ensure patient centred care.
