Are you aband 6 midwife looking for a new opportunity or wanting to expand your experience? We have opportunities for band 6 midwives to join our community team, providing high quality midwifery care to women within the community settings of York and the East Coast, including Scarborough. Midwives will work as part of a well-trained and well-led multi-disciplinary team to deliver high standards of evidence-based care to ensure safe outcomes and a positive experience for all women and their families, in line with local and national standards.Main duties of the job To assess and support the physical and psychological wellbeing of pregnant,labouring and postpartum women and their families. This will involve risk assessing, monitoring and caring for women on low- and high-risk pathways throughout the continuum of pregnancy and the postpartum period. To demonstrate a comprehensive range of knowledge and practice using current evidence-based research and practice, contributing to the development of midwifery within the maternity services at York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. To teach, supervise, support and assess student midwives and colleagues within the wider maternity team based on your own level of experience. To contribute to a culture of high standards, continuous learning, psychological safety and teamwork. To work within the framework of the NMC Midwives Code of Practice, and York & Scarborough NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust Guidelines and Protocols. You may be required to be deployed outside of their normal work setting, depending on clinical risk and service need. An essential requirement is to hold a current UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work. The post holder will also be required to participate in the on-call rota overnight.
