Full Job Description
The post holder will manage individuals with secondary mental health service needs whilst they are in prison custody. This includes assisting in the delivery and development of effective, needs based, modern mental health services within the prison . The post holder should be expert in all areas of service delivery, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the effective management of their own caseload and be expected to effectively utilise nursing skills and resources to provide high quality service to all service users. This role requires the post holder to contribute to maintaining the CPA process throughout the legal and custodial process.
- Evidence of continuous practice development related to delivering psychological interventions to both individuals and groups
- Training in psychological interventions, Good knowledge and experience of risk assessment and management.
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act and other mental health legislation including CPA, Experience of working in offender health or within a forensic setting., Knowledge of factors affecting secure mental health care and the contemporary mental health agenda
- Ability to analyse problems, gather relevant information and exercise sound judgement in reaching the most appropriate conclusions
- Ability to prioritise workload, work at a fast pace and meet deadlines., Ability to write reports and present information in a concise way
- Excellent organisational / time management skills
