Full Job Description

Opportunity has risen within the limb reconstruction clinical nurse specialist teams for an Enthusiastic Nurse to join the Team based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The teams provide inpatient care of patients pre- and post-surgery and to help facilitate discharges. The teams also follow patients up in outpatient settings and support via telephone.

We are looking for a dynamic nurse who has an interest in limb reconstruction with experience in trauma & orthopaedics or ortho-plastics surgery. The service provides care for adult patients mostly based at the QE but provide education and support to other hospitals.

This post is for 22.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable. Requirement includes post registration with experience in a relevant speciality.

The role of the Specialist Nurse includes working autonomously and as part of the wider MDT to manage a caseload of patients and support patients during their recovery, from pre to post op care and to help facilitate safe and efficient discharges.

Providing care of patients with circular frames, transport nails and injuries mainly related to lower limb.
