Full Job Description

Are you looking for variety, flexibility, challenge and the chance to progress your career into providing modern mental health care in a prison setting?, To provide community mental health nursing which contributes to the wider mental health services that are on offer to the mentally ill within HMP Birmingham prison, particularly for those experiencing serious and enduring mental illness, symptoms of personality disorder and acute phases of illness. This also includes needs -led interventions, referrals and liaison with other agencies both within and external of the prison environment. To provide risk assessment and care management plans that are intended to identify and predict factors that will minimise or prevent harm to both staff and other prisoners. To ensure effective and integrated working with prison staff and other MDT professionals working within the prison establishment, i.e. social care providers, chaplaincy and specialist services including probation, forensic mental health services and drug workers.

  • Qualification and NMC PIN
  • Experience of working in a secure setting, Mentoring qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a Prison
  • Qualification or experience of delivering Trauma Informed Care
  • Person SpecificationRegistered Nurse RMN or RNLD,
