Full Job Description

Working in partnership with the team, the postholder will ensure that excellent clinical standards are maintained., + Act as an autonomous practitioner within the Eating Disorder Service, with responsibility for a clinical caseload using the Care Programme Approach.
+ Carry out specialist assessments of referrals from Primary Care Liaison Service, Psychiatric Liaison Teams, Perinatal Services, and Secondary Mental Health Teams.
+ Provide specialist education, supervision, and support to clinical staff in primary and secondary health settings as appropriate.
+ Participate in monitoring standards within the service and take necessary action to improve them. Manage own specialist clinical caseload with supervision.
+ Advise Trust clinical staff, primary care staff, and voluntary agency staff on clinical practices considered most effective.
+ Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings where appropriate.
+ Act as a resource person and provide advice to general adult psychiatric services regarding specialist eating disorder interventions and services.
+ Develop packages of care to meet highly specialised needs of the client group, including CBT, MANTRA, SSCM, and general care coordination.
+ Maintain specialist eating disorder knowledge and use theoretically based practices to support and inform other teams.
+ Demonstrate good knowledge of the medical implications of eating disorders, working in conjunction with the client's doctor to ensure appropriate medical monitoring and interpretation of results.
RESEARCH
+ Apply current research findings where appropriate.
+ Disseminate current research findings.
+ Undertake relevant research relating to eating disorders using protocols approved by the Trust's Research Ethics Committee and supervise research by others where appropriate.
+ Promote a research-minded approach to service delivery and practice.

Always working within the overarching legal framework, the postholder will demonstrate effective clinical practice in their day-to-day work.
NOTE: This post is open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP Trust policy, all newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) will initially be recruited at Band 5 level, regardless of the advertised role banding. All NQSWs are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within two years of employment, unless there are exceptional circumstances, in which case it may be extended for a further two years.
