Band 6 CNS Or Specialist Practitioner Community Spirometry

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist or Specialist Practitioner to join our developing Community Respiratory Diagnostic Service. We are seeking an experienced registered nurse or allied health professional with a passion for respiratory care and diagnostic services to support the delivery of high-quality community-based spirometry and respiratory assessment services.

This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously across community settings, providing specialist respiratory assessment, spirometry testing, patient education, and clinical advice whilst contributing to the ongoing development of an innovative and patient-centred service.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting timely diagnosis, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care closer to home

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

Deliver high-quality respiratory assessments and diagnostic spirometry in community settings.

Provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.

Assess, analyse and interpret clinical information to support patient management and care planning.

Work collaboratively with primary, community and secondary care colleagues to ensure seamless patient pathways.

Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit and quality initiatives.

Maintain accurate clinical records and promote safe, effective, patient-centred care.

You will be an experienced and compassionate practitioner committed to delivering excellent patient care and supporting service development., Registered Nurse (NMC) or Allied Health Professional (HCPC).

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.

Post-registration experience with evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience in respiratory, community, diagnostic or specialist clinical services.

Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently.

Desirable Requirements

Experience performing and interpreting spirometry.

ARTP accreditation, or willingness to work towards this.

Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty or willingness to undertake further study.

Knowledge of current respiratory diagnostic pathways
