Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist - Rheumatology

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a clinical nurse specialist to join a team of dynamic rheumatologists and specialist nurses at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurse who will be involved in assessing, planning care, implementing and monitoring of rheumatology patients. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in rheumatology nursing and working autonomously within an outpatient/clinic setting. They will demonstrate a high level of practical and decision-making skills in order to safeguard patients particularly those on immunosuppressant and biologic therapies. The post holder must have the necessary skills to ensure appropriate education and support to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of rheumatology patients and their careers. Opportunities for training will be offered., The role includes practitioner-led clinics, advice via a telephone and email helpline service, provision of shared care monitoring, and assisting in/ delivery of nurse led outpatient clinics.

You will have excellent communication skills which will be essential in an MDT approach to management including linking with primary care.
