Band 5 Student School Nurse

The Birmingham School Health Support Service provides confidential advice, care and support to schools, children, young people and their parents.

The service aims to protect and promote the physical and emotional well-being of children to ensure that they get the most of their education and life beyond.

If you are an NMC registered first level nurse who is committed to supporting Children and Young People to access health care services tailored to meet their specific needs and be part of a supportive team and service working in partnership; this is an exciting opportunity to enhance your own public health skills and join a service dedicated to reducing health inequalities and making a difference in the lives of Children and Young People in Birmingham

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is the largest community healthcare trust in the country which serves a diverse community and is striving to make positive changes., As a Student School Health Nurse with us you will be supported by Birmingham City University for the 50% academic study requirements of the course. The training is offered fulltime commencing 1st February 2027 withfixed holidaysset throughout the 52 week duration of the course. You must be a car driver with access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes

Throughout the course theory will be embedded into practice and as an NMC registrant you will be expected to further develop your communication, leadership and reflective skills. In practice you will be supported by dedicated and innovative School Nursing colleagues who are committed to supporting and developing Student School Health Nurses and then welcoming newly qualified School Nurse into teams.
