Band 5 Staff Nurse

We pride ourselves on delivering excellent care for adult patients with renal failure requiring acute and complex maintenance haemodialysis treatment. You will play an integral role in maintaining and developing a centre of clinical excellence and work in an environment that meets the needs of both clients and team members.,

• Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision including inpatient wards and units as required.
• Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care.
• Assist and advise unregistered staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical observations of the patient and act accordingly.
• Band 5 Nurses in possession of the renal course will have the ability to be in charge of a shift in the absence of band 8 or 7.
• Organise one's own work load ensuring most effective use of time.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff and students.
• Ensure that nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures.
• Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.

  You will ideally have at least 6 months post registration experience. A willingness to undertake training within the speciality is essential as relevant education and training will be provided by an excellent in-service training programme supported by an established Renal Education Team. We encourage all applicants to arrange an informal visit., A minimum 6 months experience in medical ward or acute care setting., Experience in haemodialysis
