Staff Nurse - Band 5
This is an exciting opportunity to join the experienced Palliatiative Care team in Sobell House.
Palliative care is an approach that improves quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychological and spiritual.
Located at the Churchill Hospital site in Oxford, Sobell House is an NHS hospice within Oxford University Hospitals Trust specially designed to provide this care and support.

Main duties of the job
- We are seeking motivated Registered Nurses with sound personal values and excellent communication skills.
- This role requires an enthusiastic, committed and professional approach to the smooth delivery of safe, high quality nursing care, ensuring the best patient and family experience.
- Candidates should be excellent team players with the ability to use their own judgement to resolve issues.
- They should also have well developed interpersonal skills and a sensitive approach to dealing with difficult and upsetting situations.
- They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, and a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements.
- Candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment and competence to deliver high standards of care.
