Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established team of Community Children's Nurses in Birmingham. This is a city wide service that offers specialist nursing support to children & families with a variety of complex physical health needs., 1. Follow the NMC Code and professional standardsand take responsibility for your work.
2. Providesafe, skilled and evidence-based nursing careto children at home and in community settings.
3. Givehealth advice and educationto children and families to support healthy lifestyles.
4. Help teachfamilies, carers and other professionalsso that care is provided safely and effectively.
5. Carry outrisk assessments in children's homes.
6. Getinformed consentfrom children, parents or carers before providing care.
7. Keepaccurate, clear and up-to-date recordsof all care provided.
8. Work closely withhospitals, GPs, community healthcare teams and other serviceswhen needed.
9. Beflexibleto meet the needs of the service.

2. Always maintain aprofessional attitudeand follow NMC standards and the organisation's policies.
3. Workindependently and safelywhile following BCHC guidelines and policies.Travel to visit children and familieswithin the Birmingham area.
1. Keep yourknowledge and nursing skills up to date.
2. Take part inprofessional development and mandatory trainingrequired by the NMC and organisation.
3. Support theteaching and mentoring of other staff.
4. Take part inresearch and clinical audits related to the service.
5. Help maintainhigh standards of care and patient safetythrough good clinical governance.
6. Report anyconcerns or risks to the Team Leader, senior nurse or manager.
