Full Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Audiologist to join our team as a Band 5 Audiologist.
As part of the Audiology Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the post holder will be responsible for assessment and rehabilitation of patients attending for hearing assessment. Audiology runs specialist clinics and there will be opportunities to work alongside staff working with Tinnitus, Vestibular and Hearing Implant patients.
As a clinician contributing to the provision of patients with complex hearing needs, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously with a wide variety of patients and develop your career in partnership with clinical experts in the field of Audiology., The post holder will work autonomously to assess, manage, and support patients presenting with hearing difficulties. Responsibilities include the diagnostic assessment and rehabilitation of patients with complex hearing needs, fitting hearing aids where appropriate, and supporting patients in shared decision-making about their hearing care. The role also involves providing follow-up care for existing patients, including hearing aid and implantable device repairs.
The post holder will contribute to service development, quality assurance, continuous improvement and innovation within the department. They must adhere to policies, procedures, and professional codes of conduct, and will be supported in completing any work-based training relevant to the role.
Audiology offers a range of specialist clinics, and there will be opportunities to work alongside colleagues in Tinnitus, Vestibular, and Hearing Implant services.
The post holder will deliver holistic, compassionate, and inclusive care that respects individual choice and diversity. They will work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals, students, trainees, service users, carers, families, and external agencies.
The successful candidate will possess a BSc/PTP qualification, or equivalent, and will be registered with RCCP or HCPC.
