Band 5 Assistant Contracts Manager - Facilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Facilities Contracted Services Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as an Assistant Facilities Contracts Manager.

This is an ideal role for an ambitious Facilities professional looking to develop their career in contract management within one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK. You will support the management and monitoring of a diverse portfolio of contracted Facilities services, ensuring that services are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with contractual requirements, performance standards and Trust objectives.

Working closely with operational teams, contractors and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality services that directly support patient care and staff experience across multiple hospital sites.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

Support the day-to-day management and monitoring of Facilities contracts and associated in-house services.

Monitor contractor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), service specifications and contractual standards.

Undertake service audits, inspections and compliance checks.

Investigate service issues, identify trends and support improvement initiatives.

Act as a key point of contact for operational contract queries, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately.

Build productive relationships with contractors, clinical teams and operational managers.

Assist with contract review meetings and performance reporting.

Analyse operational and performance data to support informed decision-making.

Support governance, risk management and compliance activities across the service.

Assist with procurement exercises, mobilisation of new contracts and service development projects as required.

Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.

An excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Experienced in Facilities Management, Contract Management or Operational Service Management.

Comfortable analysing performance data and producing reports.

Committed to delivering high-quality customer-focused services.

Able to work collaboratively across a complex healthcare environment.

Passionate about continuous improvement and delivering value for money.
