Full Job Description
Key aspects of this role are to assist and support cardiac physiologists, clinical scientists, specialist nurses and advanced nurse practitioners within Cardiac Rhythm Management. To be a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to and delivering effective, quality care to cardiac patients. Other duties include meeting and greeting patients, preparing the lab and clinics, performing 12 lead ECGs, stock control and general housekeeping., + To assist and support the MDT ensuring smooth and efficient running of daily remote monitoring clinics. + To be the first point of contact for patients on remote monitoring and to assist with remote monitoring queries and clinics. + To be a member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to and delivering effective, quality care of cardiac patients. + Support and deliver orientation and training to staff within and as appropriate, out with the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. + Liaise with other staff within the Cardiac Physiology department, Oxford University Hospitals, GP Practices, and other local NHS Trust organisations to ensure that patients receive cardiac physiology procedures requested by clinical staff in the delivery of health care. + To respect and maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the department and patients. + To keep the department well maintained, stocked and tidy, while adhering to health and safety policies., Be the first point of contact for remote monitoring patients with technical and symptom queries. Triage urgency and escalate as appropriate. Perform daily alert checks on the remote monitoring service, ensuring any red alerts or patients with any cardiac abnormalities are escalated as soon as possible. Hold and triage the CRM inpatient bleep when required, being the first point of contact for all teams across the Trust and triage according to urgency. Ad-hoc distribution of remote monitoring systems to patients throughout the week both in clinic and via email. Working with the manufacturers helpline to assist in troubleshooting patient issues, distribution of transmitters and audits of the service. Maintaining the remote monitoring databases; scheduling patient's downloads; managing download schedules; sending letters to patients with dates of transmissions. To demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team utilising sensitivity, empathy, and ability to manage conflict. To be flexible/willing to assist all areas within cardiac physiology e.g., at times of sickness or increased workload. Liaise with Service Lead and department rota team to ensure clinics are staffed appropriately Ensure there are appropriate stock levels of patient communicators and associated remote monitoring equipment. Maintain the CRM NHS email, passing urgent/important clinical enquiries. Maintain accurate lists on EPR for Remote Monitoring patients; making any changes/additions required. Help organise and run patient education events
Applicants should have experience in the role of a cardiac physiology clinical support worker/cardiographer and have achieved the Society for Cardiological Science & Technology Certificate in Electrocardiography/ASCST part 1 OR Care Certificate OR Equivalent NVQ and be able to demonstrate experience in performing ECGs. SCST Diploma in ECG interpretation, Basic or Hospital Life Support qualification and phlebotomy skills would be advantageous. Candidates should have a mature, caring attitude and be calm and confident in their approach to work. Good communication, organisation and customer care skills are essential for this role.,

- Ability to perform ECG's Competent in a range of electrocardiographic procedures including preparation, attachment and detachment of ambulatory monitoring systems. Demonstrate experience in the role of a Healthcare Scientist Associate/Assistant. Understanding of the roles of cardiac physiology, nursing, ancillary and other staff. Previous health care work Ability to perform and record vital observations i.e. BP, temp, sats, urninalysis Documented evidence of attendance to mandatory and statutory training Experience in an acute setting Must have the ability to develop new skills efficiently. Aware of the importance of maintaining confidentiality. Supportive to patients, visitors and colleagues.
