Band 4 Emergency Department Administrator

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial and admin provision to the Medical, Nursing and Operational Team at Birmingham Heartlands Emergency Department., The candidate will be expected to work through Radiology Reports and action the clinical outcomes. This requires liaison with the ED Consultant Team and MDT working. The team member will also triage complaints to the department, ensuring they are allocated to the correct clinician for review and managed in a timely manner. The successful candidate will have a named number of medics / nurses that they are responsible for and will provide administrative support to the team.

The team consists of five members of staff, and we would welcome a candidate with strong communication skills and an interest in being part of a busy team. The successful candidate is required to be experienced in minute taking, have excellent time management skills with the ability to problem solve and deal with staff and patient enquiries. It is important that the candidate understands confidentiality and NHS Governance Processes. The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative and work well as part of the team., Knowledge and use of various Microsoft Office Software programmes including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access (database) to produce clinical letters and other relevant correspondence, is essential to the role.
