Full Job Description
We are looking for a receptionist for our Paediatric Outpatients Department.
The postholder will provide first-class reception services to patients and their parents / guardians. They will provide administrative support to the Children's Service clinicians and other administrative and clerical workers, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of all designated clinics.
The role comprises a wide range of specific duties and will require IT skills, together with good communication and organisation skills. The postholder must be willing to undertake any additional training necessary in order to fulfil the role.
The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week. There will be a need to be flexible and to provide cover during periods of annual leave / sickness., Answering incoming calls in a friendly, courteous and polite manner, referring to the appropriate person where necessary. Respond appropriately to any queries that arise, using all information to hand to provide a response.
Registering patient details on the patient administration system, ensuring a high level of data accuracy in patient demographic information.
Provide support, together with relevant and helpful information, to patients and colleagues within your remit.
Make outgoing calls where necessary.
Book and reschedule appointments in line with the Trust Access Policy, calling patients where needed.
Ensure patient pathway status is identified and appointments booked accordingly, in line with the regulatory access targets.
Generate appointment letters within the Electronic Patient Record system (EPR) system as appropriate to send to patients.
