There's an exciting opportunity to join the Outpatient Department (OPD) team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham as a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (HCA)!

This varied role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, including performing phlebotomy and ECGs, supporting clinicians during outpatient clinics, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring clinics run efficiently. The successful candidate will also use key outpatient systems such as Optims, Clinical Portal, and Bookwise to support patient care and clinic management.

You will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a supportive environment that encourages learning and career development., The Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (HCA) within the Outpatient Department (OPD) plays a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder assists clinicians and nursing staff in the smooth running of outpatient clinics, ensuring patients receive a high standard of care throughout their visit.

The role involves managing patient flow, preparing clinic areas, carrying out clinical duties such as phlebotomy and ECGs, and providing support to patients attending appointments. The post holder is responsible for coordinating patient arrivals, assisting with clinic organisation, and communicating effectively with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure clinics run efficiently.
