Full Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and their families? Do you want to work in a dynamic, motivated and committed team? This role with Bristol CAMHS-LD could be perfect for you. This post requires you to work with young people up to the age of 19 years who have a moderate to profound learning disability, behaviours which challenge and/or emotional and/or mental health difficulties. The role will involve working in a variety of settings with children/young people and their families along with working collaboratively with the skilled clinicians within the multidisciplinary team and the wider multiagency Network. The post holder will assist in the delivery of specialist support for children and young people who have a learning disability., To work collaboratively as a member of the skill mixed Specialist Service for Children with Learning Disabilities. This role will involve working in a variety of settings with children/young people and their families.
To assist in the delivery of specialist support for children and young people who have a learning disability. The post holder will, under supervision of the qualified nurses, contribute to and be responsible for implementing packages of care.
The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings (eg, family homes, educational settings and respite units) to support children and young people ensuring that they receive structured support.
This role also involves carrying out other tasks involving direct care and administrative work such as data inputting, filing and accurate recordkeeping.
To contribute to the learning environment and development of the service as an active member of the Team.
The South Gloucestershire CAMHS-LD service prides itself on multi-disciplinary working. We are a multi-disciplinary service primary made up of Psychiatry, Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and Support workers. We follow national and local guidance to promote person centred, holistic support to improve quality of life, along with improving mental well-being for young people and their families.
