Band 2 Health Care Support Worker

Successful candidate will be caring for patients within a hospital setting who are awaiting to go home with support or nursing/residential placements. You will be responsible for providing care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing mobilising according to manual handling, helping serve meals, feeding patients and pressure area care. Successful candidate will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard , adhering with Infection prevention protocols, assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free. The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative. Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential., You will be supported during your orientation and devlopment. Ongoing support will be provided through team meetings and development days. You can expect to have regular contact with teh Ward Manager regarding your development. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
